Hello, we are Steve and Sue Adkins, both retired, Steve having previously worked in the Lloyds of London Insurance Market and Sue in Export. Being grandparents keeps us busy along with our shared love of the outdoors and nature. We are both running club members, cycle and enjoy lots of walking.

We will provide a 100% refund should there be a National Lockdown or Tier restrictions that do not permit you to travel to The Pippins.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations due to illness, or any of your party having to self-isolate.  We highly recommend that you purchase holiday insurance.

Frequently asked questions

Check in is at 4.30 pm. Please do not arrive before this time as we have additional Covid 19 cleaning protocol procedures in place to ensure the safety of you our guests and our cleaning staff.

10.00 am to allow us to prepare The Pippins for new guests.

Cleaning is not required before you leave. We would however ask 4 things of you:

  1. Please strip all the bedding from the beds that have been slept in; pillowcases, pillowcase protectors, duvet covers, duvet cover protectors, bottom sheets and mattress protectors (just the top one, not the waterproof one underneath it). All the bedding can be put in the green laundry bags provided.
  1. Please load the dishwasher and turn the wash cycle on. Used tea towels and oven gloves can also be placed in the laundry bags with the bedlinen.
  1. Please dispose of any rubbish in the appropriate bins just outside the back door.
  1. Please do have a check around the house before you leave to ensure that you have packed all your belongings.

The deposit is 25% of the full cost of the holiday.

The final balance is due 8 weeks before the holiday start date.

You can pay online by debit or credit card via a secure payment system, Paypal or if you prefer, you can pay by bank transfer.

The security deposit is an additional £100.00 to be paid with the balance of your holiday. This is a refundable damage deposit. Should anything be broken, damaged or require replacement or repair resulting from your stay, the repair/replacement cost will be taken from the security deposit. Please let us know of any damage/breakages before you leave. If nothing is broken/damaged during your stay then the security deposit will be refunded in full within 7 days of your departure.  Accidents do happen and if something like a glass or plate gets broken we are very unlikely to charge you for this however, we do need to know so that we can replace these items before the next guests arrive.

There are no extra charges to the price of your holiday.  Heating and electricity are included along with free use of the EV type 2 charger.

Yes it does, you will find the code next to the hub in the kitchen and also in the TouchStay App.

Yes it does. Netflix is provided for you. You will need to sign in to your Amazon, Disney etc accounts. Please remember to log out of your account before you leave.

All bedlinen and towels (one hand towel and one bath towel per person per week).  Please bring your own beach towels.

A highchair for a child up to 2 years old and a travel cot with mattress (please bring your own cot bedding) are provided, you will find them in the utility room.

The nearest supermarket is Tesco’s at Stalham, there is also a Waitrose, Sainsburys and Lidl at North Walsham.

Should you require a taxi, Stripes Express operate 24 hours a day 01692 434007 bookings can also be made online.

There are two pubs in the village, both within walking distance of The Pippins. The Pleasure Boat Inn on the Staithe (currently closed for refurbishment) and The Greyhound in the heart of the village. Remember to take a torch with you if walking back late at night as there is no street lighting in Hickling. There are torches in each of the bedside tables and a spare torch hanging in the broom cupboard in the kitchen. We also provide high-vis vests for your safety.
